N2  - Survey of sago stands in Bunawan, Agusan del Sur revealed occurrence of an infectious leaf spot disease caused by a fungus. Isolation to pure culture, morphological examination, and pathogenicity test revealed the casual organism to be Pestalotiopsis sp. (Fungi Imperfecti: Melanconiales). Under laboratory conditions and in in vitro culture, the pathogen sporulated best with continuous illumination and when incubated under an ambient temperature of 25oC, and at pH6.0
