Root tips from mature and clonally-propagated V. senderiana were subjected to different Clorox treatments ranging from 5% for 15 and 30 minutes and 10 to 20% for 5-15 minutes. Data obtained showed that mature root tip explants may be sterilized using 10 to 20% clorox for 5 minutes. Tests confirmed that clonally-propagated explants neednot be sterilized. Three types of media were evaluated: namely the modified White?s, modified Vacin-Went and modified Murashige and Skoog. Explants cultured in Vacin-Went medium showed positive growth signs through elongation but results were not sufficient to conclude that it is most suitable for root tip culture of V. sanderiana
