Fish larval samples were obtained by horizontal tow using a 335m ichthyoplankton net with a ring diameter of 45 cm. A total of 1,212 fish larvae were hauled comprising 46 families, obtained from September 2000 and February 2001 representing Southwest and Northeast monsoon, respectively. Abundance of fish larvae was dominated by reef associated species groups (49%) comprising Gobiies, Pomacentrids and Apogons, among others. Pelagic group made up 35% of the total samples represented by Clupeids and Scombrids while 7% comprised the demersal group represented by Terapontids and Nemipterids. Fish larval density was found to be higher during southwest monsoon especially in stations 3, 5 and 11. Cluster analysis showed no clear spatial distribution pattern among the stations surveyed ER -
