Thesis (BS Food Technology) -- University of the Philippines Mindanao, 2004
The plant practice was conducted at PhilBest Canning Corporation in Tambler, General Santos City from April 21 to May 28, 2003. The purpose of the plant practice was to give the student the opportunity to apply the techniques and knowledge in food handling and processing which she had learned from Food Science and Technology courses. For the duration of the plant practice, the student was exposed to the two major departments, namely, the Quality Control Department and the Production line. In the Quality Control Department, the trainee had undergone the basic laboratory analyses of raw materials and finished products. Likewise, the trainee had a hands-on experience on the major activities of the plant. There were also minor problems encountered and certain recommendations were made for the improvement of the company's production system.
