Thesis (BS Computer Science) -- University of the Philippines Mindanao, 2004
The creation of this application software revolves around the idea of providing a secured network computing environment. The development of the project involved careful planning and formulation of a network security policy that will adapt to any network setting. The application software that was developed contains the components: the server-side application software and the client-side application software. The server-side application software provides management of the entire network system by implementing various network security policies aimed at controlling a desktop computer and by monitoring client?s computer usages. On the other hand, the client-side application software is involved in securing local computers by providing a unified login and access control mechanism. By giving emphasis on desktop security, network security is achieved in the process. With this application software, network administration and monitoring of computer usage can now be automated and centralized thus eliminating inefficient manual monitoring
