Dissertation note: Thesis (BS Computer Science) -- University of the Philippines Mindanao, 2011 Abstract: The Knowledge Management System for the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office XI (CHED RO XI KMS) is an online system that integrates and manages file-based knowledge assets of the Office. There are two (2) users in the system: the Contributor and the Administrator. The Contributor uploads files to the repositories and participates in the knowledge discussions. The Administrator has all the privileges on the Contributor accounts, repositories, and discussion. Only the two (2) users enumerated above have access to the system and its contents. Explicit knowledge is represented by discussion results, folders and documents. The tacit knowledge is represented by discussion messages and drafts. The transformation of tacit knowledge into explicit knowledge is contained in the knowledge forum discussion. The system provided the Office a way of accumulating and sharing knowledge among its members. The system helps int he improvement of the Office's productivity by making proven methods and superior choices available.
