Thesis (BS Biology) -- University of the Philippines Mindanao, 2002
Blood and fecal sample of the 21 captive Philippine Eagles (Pithecophagajefferyi, Ogilvie-Grant) at the Philippine Eagle Center, located in Malago, Davao City were assayed for endoparasites. Thick and thin blood smears revealed no parasites. However, two different ova of helminths were recovered using the modified Sheather?s sugar flotation technique. One of the ova is that of Capillaria (an intestinal roundworm) which was common to the said raptors during the duration of the study. The other worm found was suggested to fall under the Superfamily Spirunoidea
